Why Compassion
God Designs It.
God set in motion a kind of chain reaction to finish his work of redeeming us from the curse of sin. He is aware of the trauma, the adverse life experiences and the sense of shame and terror that many people experience. He places within their hearts a yearning to belong and connect, a longing for “Supportive Therapeutic Relationships.” Then, God’s people that have been touched by His grace, being made subject to the working of the Holy Spirit acting on their prefrontal cortex, are propelled by His love to show compassion towards hurting individuals. They mingle with these hurting ones desiring only their good.
Mingling is about God’s people ministering to hurting individuals by doing acts of loving kindness, of healing, and of hospitality. In the process, the brain of both parties change and the reward pathway in it lights up as the hormone oxytocin that creates bonding is released. Hurting individuals are moved to “join and conform” and the chain reaction continues into an explosive multiplication of individuals coming to Christ. Discipling becomes a rewarding reality. The story of the Samaritan woman illustrates this fact. Surprised that Christ showed sympathy for her and ministered to her emotional needs, she called all the men in her city to come and see Him. Also, the transformed demoniacs in Luke 8 were able to reach ten cities.
Come and see how discipleship starts with humility and expands with explosive multiplication. “If we would humble ourselves before God, and be kind and courteous, tenderhearted and pitiful, there would be one hundred conversions to the truth where now there is only one.” Christ is just waiting to fulfill His promise in John 14:12, “He who believes in me, the same works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do.”
The Benefits are Extraordinary.
“If you are generous with the hungry and start giving yourselves to the down-and-out, your lives will begin to glow in the darkness, your shadowed lives will be bathed in sunlight. I will always show you where to go. I’ll give you a full life in the emptiest of places— firm muscles, strong bones. You’ll be like a well-watered garden, a gurgling spring that never runs dry. You’ll use the old rubble of past lives to build anew, rebuild the foundations from out of your past. You’ll be known as those who can fix anything, restore old ruins, rebuild and renovate, make the community livable again.” Isa 58:10 -11 MSG
Eternity Depends on It.
“Then they also will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’ Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” Matthew 25: 44 – 46

Our Core Principles
Understanding the physiology of compassion in reaching the minds of individuals is a crucial component. We can improve our efficacy 100-fold.
Humans were created to be pampered with love and cuddled in safety. We were made to be led and cared for by an external being. Being in love with Jesus unleashes unlimited potential and reveals the secret for us to super perform.
Our thoughts, habits, passions, and emotions are by design to be controlled by reason.
